Michael is a doctoral researcher at the Institute of Political Science, University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. His research focuses on Africa at the intersection of Technology and Society. Michael’s current doctoral dissertation explores the role of the judiciary and civil society organizations (CSOs) in dealing with digitally related abuses such as internet shutdowns in Africa. He has had extensive field research stays with CSOs working on Africa’s digital landscape particularly in Southern, Central, Eastern and Western African countries such as Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
